Thok - 2002
Thok allows Sinha to explore more deeply his choreographic path through the exploration of a dynamic quatuor. The movements, the music and the sounds provided by metallic bells installed on the dancers' bodies is blended together to form a tight net of communication.
In a fluid movement mixed with various dynamic accents, the choreographer deconstructs the controlled and formalized techniques of Bharatanatyam to integrate his own personal and explosive style. Having developed a refined sense of gestual synthesis, Roger Sinha creates a true hybrid of dance, which reaches its highest point.
