Tono at the Vancouver 2010 Cultural Olympiad
Red Sky proudly announces its much-lauded Tono - a stunningly vivid dance and live music creation that connects the Indigenous cultures of Canada, Mongolia and China. Tono is conceived, co-choreographed and directed by artistic director Sandra Laronde with co-choreography by Roger Sinha. When it was performed as part of Luminato, the press raved:
"Tono is an extraordinarily beautiful show with stunning music, extreme athleticism, gorgeous images and wit."
Tono is heavily grounded in the theme of horse culture, spanning plains traditions in Asia and North America with a storyline about shamanism on both continents. Tono mesmerizes audiences with its celebration of the creature universally regarded as the epitome of strength, grace and beauty.
