Envie de découvrir les danses et rythmes traditionnels de l'Inde et de l'Argentine ? De faire partie du processus de création de deux artistes d'ici qui parcourent le monde avec leur art ?
De vivre une aventure interculturelle unique ?

Dans le cadre du Programme Hors les murs, la Maison de la culture de Villeray-Saint-Michel-
Parc-Extension et les chorégraphes-danseurs Irem Bekter et Roger Sinha présentent ZAPATEO SOUS ZÉRO.

Un projet d'ateliers uniques en six étapes offerts gratuitement les :


> Mardi 14 février • 1 atelier de 2 h (avant-midi)
> Vendredi 2 mars • 1 atelier de 2 h (avant-midi) et 1 atelier de 2h (après-midi)

Sinha Danse and Constantinople, public rehearsal

Come share with us during a public rehearsal in January!


Roger Sinha (Sinha Danse) and Kiya Tabassian (Ensemble Constantinople) will combine their talent to explore a new creation about migrations and mixing of culture.

Join us on Saturday, January 14th at 8pm at the Studio of the Segal Center for a public rehearsal.
This will be a great occasion to discover and discuss the first steps of this new creation.

New piece and shows in Winnipeg

From December 1 to 3, 2011

 

Roger will be working for Brent Lott and the six dancers of the Winnipeg's Contemporary Dancers next November, to create a new group work that marries Bharata Natyam with contemporary dance, in the enthralling way that only Roger can. This project will be presented from Dec. 1st to 4th at the Rachel Browne Theatre, Winnipeg.

Impulse, School of Toronto Dance Theatre

From December 1 to 10, 2011

 

In September, Roger Sinha has been the special guest of the School of Toronto Dance Theatre. As the 2011 winner of the Kathryn Ash Choreographic Commission, Roger Sinha created a short piece with the students.

 

Enjoy this new work during the event Impulse from December 1st to 3rd and December 8th to 10th at the Winchester Street Theatre of Toronto.

The short video by Roger Sinha, The Barber of Bangalore, will be presented in Montréal !

 

The video will be screened at the event Diasporasia, November 4th at 6:30pm at articule, 262 Fairmount west. Others short film will be presented by SAVAC (South Asian Visual Arts Centre).

Roger Sinha offers workshops in October

From October 10 to 15, 2011

 

 

Share your high energy and curiosity with Roger Sinha at these unique workshops in North America!

 

From October 10th to 15th 2011, Roger Sinha will be offering a series of workshops based on his own personal choreographic language. His style marries Bharata Natyam (mudras and complex footwork) with contemporary dance.

 

The purpose of the workshop is to permit the student to integrate elements of Indian dance and contemporary dance, to increase the sense of precision by working with the mudras and to develop a greater sense of rhythm.

 

Technique classes will be offered in the morning and will be followed, in the afternoon, by an exploration of both Sinha Danse repertory and creative process.

Sinha Danse still celebrates its 20th anniversary in 2011.

 

Last March, l'Agora de la danse of Montréal hosted an original picture exhibition covering the 20 years of creation of the company.

Also, we are delighted to announce that a silent auction will go on online from September 12th. Sinha Danse offers six more photos of the company from Apricot Trees Exist, A Matter of Life and Breath, Thok, Chaï and Le jardin des vapeurs.

Sinha Danse celebrates its 20th anniversary and presents its new production

On March 9th 2011, on the occasion of A Matter of Life & Breath's première, Sinha Danse celebrates its twentieth anniversary! During the evening, there will be a presentation of a short retrospective video and a cocktail accompanied with indian music. You will also get to see an original picture exhibition covering the 20 years of creation of the company in Agora's Labo for the whole lenght of the event, March 9th-10th. These pictures will be part of a silent auction, held on the evening of March 9th only, as well as package holidays, workshops, etc !
